Jim Sturman KC acted for Rodrigo Bentancur of Tottenham Hotspur Football Club at first instance and on appeal on an FA charge of an aggravated breach of FA Rule E3.2 in relation to remarks made in the course of an interview with a Uruguayan journalist. Importantly the panel accepted that the player was not a racist and that he had not intended to cause offence to his team-mate, or indeed to anybody else.
