Solicitor charged with fraud has all charges dismissed

Sam Magee KC has successfully applied to have all charges dismissed against a solicitor accused of multiple counts of fraud. The prosecution alleged that the solicitor conspired with a group of alleged fraudsters who are said to have been involved in embezzling hundreds of thousands of pounds from property investors and mortgage providers in a series of high value property deals in the UK and abroad.

Commending Sam Magee KC’s submissions on his client’s behalf, the judge was persuaded that there was “nothing” to support the case put by the prosecution. In line with Sam’s argument, the Court concluded that the evidence in fact suggested the solicitor had acted in an upfront and honest manner. All charges were dismissed before the solicitor had even been arraigned with all other Defendants now facing trial.
