Sir Bob Neill KC (Hon) was a keynote speaker at the recent International Symposium on Economic Crime held at Jesus College, Cambridge. Sir Bob spoke on the emerging challenges of economic crime targeting offshore financial centres with reference to his long-standing experience working with British Overseas Territories and the Crown Dependencies (the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man). He highlighted the particular regulatory and criminal law challenges posed by the growth of crypto-currencies and other digital assets and the need for a common approach to multi-jurisdictional litigation in international economic crime cases.
This was the 42nd Cambridge Economic Crime Symposium, concentrating this year on Cross-Border Crime. Sir Bob has been a regular speaker at this event for several years. It brings together leading practitioners, judges, academics, law enforcement agencies and the business world.
