Simeon Wallis, instructed by Amie Harris of JSP Solicitors, secured the acquittal of a soldier in a recent Court Martial at the Catterick Military Court Centre. The defendant was charged with intentionally causing grievous bodily harm to two other soldiers and assaulting a third. The injuries caused to one soldier were said to be life altering.
The prosecution accepted after cross-examination of six witnesses that the evidence could not establish a joint enterprise, and a verdict of not guilty was entered on one count. The board acquitted the defendant of the other two charges after a five-day trial, preserving his liberty and his rank.
