Simeon Wallis, instructed by Eva Barci of Rustem Guardian Solicitors, represented a young man (D) charged with being concerned in the supply of several kilograms of cocaine, and possessing £100,000 of cash said to be criminal property.
The prosecution case at trial was that D was linked by fingerprints to bags containing several kilograms of cocaine and a shoebox which held the cash. Observation evidence and analysis of his phone were said to put him at the scene when the bags and box were handed over to another suspect. There was evidence that he had come to the United Kingdom illegally from Albania, which he accepted.
D denied that he had been correctly identified. He was unanimously acquitted by a jury at Snaresbrook Crown Court.
