Quentin Hunt and Rhys Rosser have successfully undertaken the private prosecution of a Defendant for harassment and public order offences relating to ongoing matters between the complainants and their neighbours. Quentin and Rhys were instructed to prosecute the case privately following a decision by the CPS not to prosecute the Defendant.
Quentin and Rhys were instructed on a direct public access basis, with Rhys acting as litigator and disclosure officer and with Quentin conducting the trial advocacy. The trial concluded with convictions on all counts. The Defendant was sentenced to a 12-month community order with an electronically monitored curfew and an indefinite restraining order was made preventing her from contacting or further harassing the victims, a cost order was also made against the defendant in favour of the private prosecutor.
