Quentin Hunt was instructed by Capita PLC on a direct public access basis to defend a private prosecution of one of their employees. The private prosecution related to alleged false representations that were said to have been made by the employee to the Traffic Commissioner in the conduct of Capita’s undertaking of administration work on behalf of Transport for London.
Quentin was instructed to defend in the case. As part of the conduct of the case he made detailed representations to the Crown Prosecution Service that the case should be taken over and discontinued on the basis of lack of evidence and in the public interest. The matter was successfully concluded when the CPS indicated that they would take the matter over and discontinue the case. This was undertaken in short order resulting the matter being concluded in Quentin’s client’s favour.
