Sam Thomas, instructed by Richard Marshall and Oliver Cooke at Penningtons Manches Cooper, successfully represented two serving police officers; defending an application in contempt of court proceedings. Mr Justice Kerr rejected an application for permission to bring proceedings against the officers. The determination agreed with a previous order made by Sir Ross Cranston which Sam obtained in September 2021. The determination of the Administrative Court brings to an end 12 months of litigation during which Sam consistently demonstrated to the High Court that there was not a strong prima facie case against the officers.
