A Police Disciplinary Panel sitting at Palestra House recently cleared Officer A of historic allegations of coercive and controlling behaviour made by his ex-partner Ms B. The Panel determined that the allegations, even if proved, could not amount to a breach of the professional standards so serious as to amount to misconduct and stopped the case after Ms B’s evidence. The case raised issues in relation to both Article 6 and Article 8 of the ECHR.
Alex Stein instructed by Sam Haldane of JMW Solicitors represented Officer A throughout the investigation, when anonymity for the Officer was secured, and at the final hearing.
