Following a 3-week trial at the Central Criminal Court, Archangelo Power, instructed by Mr Shivalkar of Faradays Solicitors, secured the acquittal of his client (RD) for a conspiracy to transfer over 40 lethal firearms and associated homemade ammunition.
The background to this case is that in July 2020, following an 8-month surveillance operation, the Metropolitan Police raided RD’s address in Enfield and found what they described as a gun factory. On that occasion some 25 antique guns were recovered. Some were disassembled and in the process of being cleaned and put back together, and others were complete and loaded with viable ammunition. Also found was a significant quantity of home-loaded ammunition together with all the component parts and equipment needed to manufacture it. During the trial, the Crown alleged that over 40 firearms been purchased and transferred to others.
