Pearson we need to go into the festive period strong

It's December which means a hectic schedule of football fixtures.

PNE player Ben Pearson says it is important the Lilywhites have a good run before the festive period.

They travel to Burton Albion on Saturday before hosting Sheffield United the following weekend at Deepdale.

After that, it's four games in nine days.

Speaking to the club website Pearson said:

"I think results over the last three or four games have been positive and obviously getting that win on Saturday sets us up for December. We've got some tough games so we are looking forward to it.

"This is probably the most important period of the season, with the congestion of fixtures, I think around the 20th December to the New Year is hectic and you can fly up the league or fly down it.

"I think as long as we are in a good position going into that period, it puts us in good stead to climb the table and winning more games."

"They've struggled a little bit this year but as we were aware last season, go there is a tough place to go, the pitch is small and the stadium is quite tight so it makes the pitch feel smaller than it actually is".

There is some good news for North End, Daniel Johnson back in to contention, and Tom Clarke played 45 minutes against Queens Park Rangers.
