Stanley out of the Checkatrade trophy

Accrington Stanley

6:43am 4th October 2017

Stanley are out of the Checkatrade Trophy.

An 88th minute goal from Blackpool was enough to end the Reds run this season.

It had been on a kinfe edge until that point with match tied at 1-1.

It was a bright start for the Reds but it was Blackpool who took a first-half lead before Erico Sousa levelled minutes later.

As the game appeared to be heading for a penalty shoot-out Max Clayton popped up at the back post to stab home his first Blackpool goal and secure his side victory.
