Police carry out searches after stabbing

s60 callon stabbing preston

Published by at 5:46pm 11th March 2019

Police have a special order in place following a stabbing in Preston that means they can search people and vehicles.

The Section 60 covers the Fishwick and St Matthews areas of Preston until 6am tomorrow morning.

A 14-year-old boy has serious injuries after what police believe was a targeted attack on Samuel Street last night.

Three men are being questioned.

The Section 60 order gives police the power to search people or vehicles without suspicion in an area where we believe violence could take place.

They say it’s not about targeting people, it is about making sure  they do all we can to keep people safe.
