Final farewell to Chorley's Botany Bay

Botany bay redevelopment

Published by Alice Sofield at 7:10am 20th February 2019 (Updated 7:12am 20th February 2019)

Chorley's Botany Bay is about to give way for a major retail and housing village.

It was announced last summer that the building would be turning into a retail, housing and employment development.

Today (20/2/19) is the last day Botany Bay shoppers can look around the 5 floor mill shopping centre.

Eventually, it's hoped the site will be filled with over 280 homes, an outlet-style shopping village, hotel and industrial units.

One of the main concerns which has dominated previous meetings - is what impact the redevelopment will have on traffic. Botany Bay is directly next to J8 of the M61 in Chorley.

We're asking people in Lancashire whether they think it's a good move or if they're not ready to say goodbye just yet:
