Three men hurt in Accrington machete attack

Six people have stormed a house in Accrington with machetes.

The police were called to reports of a disturbance on Clement Street last night (1/1/19) at about 11pm.

Three men had been attacked.

One of them is being treated at Royal Preston Hospital with stab wounds which are serious, but not believed to be life-threatening.

A second victim refused treatment and the third left the address prior to police getting there.

A 55-year-old woman from Accrington's been arrested on suspicion of assault (GBH) and remains in custody.

A spokesperson says;

"Our enquiries are ongoing but we believe this was a targeted attack and there is currently not thought to be any wider threat to the public.

"However we have increased patrols in the area as a precaution".
