UPDATE: Man charged after teen raped in Burnley

A man has been charged with the rape of a 14-year-old girl in Burnley.

A 14-year-old girl was attacked on the stairs close to Charter Walk car park at about 9am on New Year's Day.

30-year-old Nassar Iqbal from Nelson was arrested on Wednesday (2/1/19), and has now been charged with rape, sexual assault and robbery.

He appeared before Blackburn Magistrates Court on Friday (4/1/19).

He's now been remanded in custody before appearing before Burnley Crown Court on the 7th of February.
