Support promised for parents of children with mental health issues

A Blackburn charity wants to start holding drop in sessions for parents of children with mental health issues.

The Lotus Mental Health doesn't think there is enough support for mums and dads at the moment.

They carried out a survey that found many parents feel guilty that they're struggling to cope with their child's illness.

Carla Whittaker is the charity's Director and has been speaking to 2BR's reporter Janine Hindle:

Carla has also written a series of books that are aimed at children that she hopes will help 'normalise' mental health conditions:
