razor blade attached to slide in lancashire

Published by Alice Sofield at 5:51pm 30th November 2018 (Updated 5:54pm 30th November 2018)

Parents are being made aware that razor blades have been attached to a children's slide in a Lancashire play area.

Small knife blades have been found by police - stuck to the side of a children's slide at the Winifred Lane Play area in Aughton (West Lancashire) this morning.

Ormskirk and Burscough Police want to make parents aware that this has happened.

A spokesperson for the force said:

"We would ask everyone to be vigilant and check any play equipment before you let your child use it. Please report anything suspicious or any similar incidents to us by calling either 101 or Crimestoppers, 100% anonymously, on 0800 555111.

"Whoever did this could have caused serious injury to a child - please be assured we are fully investigating this matter."
