More warnings after teen grabbed on way to school

police officers

5:15am 4th October 2018
(Updated 7:48am 4th October 2018)

Police have stepped up their patrols and schools are warning people to be vigilant after more inappropriate incidents have been reported.

Last week, a man grabbed a teenager's bum as she walked to school in Oswaldtwistle. He followed the 14-year-old along a shortcut path from Heron Way.

When the teenager got to Town Bent Lane the man ran up to her, grabbed her bum and then ran off.

Police say there was a similar incident in March where a man touched another 14-year-old girl on Town Bent Lane and then ran away.

More recently, a naked man has approached a schoolgirl in Oswaldtwistle.

Mount Carmel High school are now warning students and parents on Facebook after the incident. They're urging children to not walk alone to school.

Officers say they know taking shortcuts can be handy, but people should avoid them, especially if they're walking alone.

The man they're looking for in relation to the Oswaldtwistle incident is white, aged between 20 and 30, short and was wearing a black hat and black clothing.
