Woman pretended her 'daughter' had been injured in the Manchester Arena attack

Published by Alice Sofield at 4:08pm 18th September 2018 (Updated 4:41pm 18th September 2018)

A con artist, who pretended her 'daughter' had been injured in the Manchester Arena terror attack, has been jailed.

The 51-year-old from Kirkby on Merseyside, who has no children, submitted over 30 false claims that led to insurance pay outs worth over £140,000.

Susan Pain said her 'girl' was forced to undergo two operations after the bombing in Manchester.

The insurance broker used her inside knowledge to submit the claims and forge NHS documents.

Thankfully, the company saw through her after they were unable to find any recollection of her 'daughter'.

She'll spend 2 years behind bars.
