Why are women campaigning for free sanitary products at football clubs?

A new initiative to try to end so-called period poverty is seeing football clubs introducing free sanitary products for women.

27 are now involved in the scheme at their stadiums. It all started after three female Scottish football fans noticed sanitary products were locked away and some toilet cubicles didn't even have a sanitary bin.

Orliaith Duffy, Erin Salven and Mikaela McKinley, who are all Celtic fans, launched 'On the Ball'.

The ‘On the Ball’ campaign looks to increase visibility for female football fans and encourages clubs to be more inclusive for supporters.

The season ticket holders managed to get sanitary products offered out for free in the toilets at Celtic's stadium. Now they plan to roll the campaign out for all clubs to get involved in - and it's working!

However, many people still think more needs to be done.
