A girl's been attacked by a dog in Preston.

The four-year-old was taken to Royal Preston Hospital with head and facial injuries after the incident yesterday (15/7/18).

Police officers were called to Westfield Drive at about 4.15pm to reports of a child being attacked in the garden of one of the houses.

It's believed the little girl was playing in the garden of the house where the dog lived.

The dog - thought to be cross-breed - has been seized by police.

A 40-year-old woman from Preston has been arrested on suspicion of having a dog dangerously out of control and remains in police custody.
