Huge plumes of smoke could be seen for miles after a fire broke out in Colne.

At it's height eight fire engines from Blackburn, Nelson, Hyndburn, Earby, Great Harwood, Colne and Barnoldswick, along with the Stinger attended the scene on Green Road.

Lancashire fire and rescue service told 2BR waste opposite an industrial unit had gone up in flames.

Overnight one fire engine remained on the scene damping down.

Investigations are underway to try and find out what caused the fire.
