Man falls from taxi in Burnley

A man's in a critical condition after falling from a taxi in Burnley.

This happened in the early hours of this morning (15/4/18), and is one of two incidents that were reported overnight.

Police were called at around 2.10am to the A682, Church Street, near to Active Way.

They found the 40-year-old man from Brierfield in the middle of the road.

He was resuscitated at the scene, and suffered multiple injuries - being taken to Royal Preston Hospital.

He remains in a critical condition, as his family are supported by specially trained officers.

The man is believed to be a passenger in a Toyota Avensis private hire taxi.

Sgt Marc Glass, of Lancashire Police, said:

“An investigation is underway following a serious incident in Burnley.

“A man has suffered life-threatening injuries and our thoughts are with the man and his family at this difficult time. 

“We are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident and has not yet spoken with police to come forward".
