(Updated 10:55am 15th April 2018)

We've been told there were incidents on two roads in Lancashire overnight.

They were described as 'serious' by police.

The first happened on Yorkshire Street, before another took place on Church Street.

They were unconnected.

Emergency services were called just before 1am to Yorkshire Street, to a crash involving one car.

We're told two pedestrians were hit, and taken to hospital by ambulance.

We're told a person was left with "serious, but not life threatening" injuries.

A second crash on Church Street happened at around 2.20am.

Again, one car was involved and one person has been left with very serious injuries.

They were found lying in the road - an ambulance also took them to hospital.

Road closures were put into place as first aid was carried out, and debris was cleared.

The Fire Service were also called to both incidents.

Both roads have since been reopened.

Police tell us an investigation into both crashes has been launched.
