Haul after the first day of knife amnesty

5:15pm 13th February 2018

One day into a knife amnesty and Blackburn and Darwen Police have shown the haul of knives that have so far been handed in.

There's some really odd weapons in there.

These were handed into the special bin at Blackburn Greenbank.

Police said;

"This is a fantastic response and we hope you'd agree that, wherever it has come from, this selection is better in our hands than on the streets where it could fall into the wrong hands.

"If you've got a knife or other bladed weapon you would like to ditch anonymously you can use the special bins this week outside Greenbank, Burnley and Nelson police stations.

"Also, if you are a young person who wants to know the real facts about knife crime, or a parent wanting to start a conversation with your kids, have a look at this website http://socsi.in/lveI5 for tips and advice.
