(Updated 12:16pm 12th December 2017)

A man's exposed himself to a 13-year-old girl in Burnley.

This was on Cog Lane at about 7pm yesterday evening (11/12/17).

The 13-year-old girl had been travelling in the direction of Rossendale Road towards the Premier shop when she noticed the man behind her.

The man's turned sideways and then exposed himself to her.

He then made off along Cog Lane with the girl returning home and reporting the incident.

The suspect is described as white, aged in his 40s with dark brown hair. It is believed he was carrying a grey petrol container.

Police are appealing for information and urging anyone who can assist with their enquiries to come forward.

PC Sam Burniston, of Burnley Police, said:

“We are looking to identify a man who indecently exposed himself on Cog Lane.

“The victim, who is 13-years-old, was walking past the Premier shop when she became aware of a man walking behind her and turned around.

"As she did he turned sideways and exposed himself.

“This is clearly a very disturbing incident and we are appealing for information about the offender described.

“We are looking to speak to anyone who may have seen this man and would ask anyone with any information to contact police on 101 quoting incident reference 1341 of December 11.”
