Car on fire on M65

car fire m65

4:36pm 5th December 2017
(Updated 5:17pm 5th December 2017)

A car was on fire on the M65 - causing traffic issues.

This is westbound - heading towards Preston.

It's between Junction 5 for Guide and Junction 4 for Darwen.

Part of the motorway had to be closed off by the police so that fire crews could put the blaze out.

That's now been lifted, but traffic is affected between J5 and J3.

And the slip roads are still closed;

It's on  the hard shoulder but the damage is reportedly really bad.

It's affecting traffic all the way through Blackburn too;
