He's saving more than just shots in Lancashire.

We're talking to Tom Heaton about his role with the cancer charity - Cares.

It's all about getting more people talking about the importance of catching the disease early on.

Heats is now the charity's ambassador and wants to use his profile in the community to raise the issue.

The Claret keeper hopes if people see him discussing the disease then they'll feel comfortable doing it too.

Cares and Tom are also working with East Lancashire Health Trust on projects that aim to lower waiting times and get easier diagnosis.

At the moment their fundraising to get a new Endoscopy Unit at Burnley General Hospital.
