A month on from 2BR's visit to Uganda and we have a few updates for you.

During Sarah Collins' trip to the country she visitied the fishing village of Lwanjaba and met Nakyinzi Oliver.

She is a widow who looks after her five grandchildren. One of them, 9-year-old John is also disabled after a motorbike accident (pictured above with with his Grandma).

They were all living in a run down hut with no proper roof and using paraffin and candles for light.

Aid organisation ACCU stepped into to build a home for her and the children, that work was underway in July and has now been completed.

Samuel Nsubuga who's behind the project said:

"The house has been connected with solar energy that can enable them to access light without using candles which can cause fire accidents. The solar panel they have received is serving a multipurpose including Phone charging which can be used as a venture for income generating activity to the household. We envisage that if she can charge 2 cell phones per day each at 500= it can enable her to earn 1000= which can help her to meet the basic needs of the household".

In an interview Nakyinzi told Sarah how she struggled to provide for the children and pay for medicine, the family had been trying to make as much money as possible by digging in other people's gardens.

Every month she has to feed them and pay for medicine with just £5. The nearest hospital is 8km away.
