Can you help keep your town going?

Blackburn Landscape

6:16am 13th August 2017

A new campaign's been launched to keep Blackburn with Darwen going.

'Your Call' is asking members of the public to help with the general running of the towns.

It's after BwD council says spending and budget cuts have changed the services they can offer forever.

Blackburn with Darwen Council say it's been tough - and will continue to be that way.

But the help they've got the public has made a huge difference.

Whether that's having communties run their centres, clean up their streets or help others - it all eases pressure on the council.

But they are still calling for more volunteers to take some of the weight.

'Your Call' is giving members of the public the chance to make a real difference in their town.

Here's what the council have to say;

"Whether you shop locally, join in a clean up, take action on domestic abuse or road safety, your choices and actions count.

"It's Your Call if you want to play your part and fight for Blackburn with Darwen.

"We'll support and encourage you all the way because what matters to you, matters to us.

"Please, stand up and be counted in our wonderful borough. Together, we can make it better.

"Your community, your call".
