Bus crashes in town centre

bus crash blackburn

(Updated 3:16pm 9th August 2017)

There's been an accident in the centre of Blackburn near The Mall.

Police have been spotted near the scene and have taped part of Higher Church Street off.

Glass can also be seen on the pavement near the bus, a 152 service.

Eyewitness Eddy told 2BR:

"There are roadworks happening on the right side of the road and it's fenced off. This is causing the road to become very narrow, which has caused the bus to have to swing out around the fencing.

"But it's swung out too far and crashed the top of the bus into The Mall and cracking part of the building.

"The top section of the window fell out of the bus and onto the pavement when the bus hit the building."

We're waiting for more information from the police and will update this article as we get it.
