PNE react to training ground plan rejection

PNE Training Ground Proposal

1:25pm 19th June 2017

PNE say the rejection of their plans for a football training ground is Preston throwing away their chance to support the club.

They've also said they'll continue to strive in their objectives - with or without the council's support.

The original plans would have seen a training ground complex, with a housing development and public park on the old Ingol Golf Club.

But that was rejected by the city council, who worried it would cause urban sprawl.

In a club statement, PNE say this is not the end though;

"We will shortly be announcing our next move in our attempts to change the current stance of our local planning committee.

"In the next few weeks we urge all of our supporters and all in the local community whether supporters or not to get behind the club in our objectives of delivering on all of our plans for Ingol.

"Premier League football brings enormous financial benefits to the City as a whole.

"The coming weeks will demonstrate once and for all whether or not Preston as a City wishes to distance itself from these objectives or embrace them and work with us for the future economic benefit of all in community".
