Boy hit in the face with a wrench during a robbery

Police raid 8

4:34pm 19th May 2017

A teenager has attacked with wrench and robbed by a gang in Preston.

At around 8pm yesterday (18th May) the 15-year-old was walking in Avenham Park close to the Ribblesdale Place entrance.

That's when around 10 teenagers came up to him with two of them riding bikes.

The gang demanded the boy's watch but he refused so they hit him in the face with the wrench.

It spilt his lip and damaged his teeth.

The boy was knocked to the floor and handed over his watch to his attackers.

Here's the area where it happened:

They then ran off from the scene and three boys stayed to help him.

The offenders are described as a stocky male with dark hair, a boy with curly blonde hair carrying a JD sports bag and wearing an Armani jacket, as well as one boy with dark curly hair.

They stole a Rolex Yacht Master in blue and gold.

Det Con Katie Clancy, of Preston CID, said:

"This was a nasty, vicious and unprovoked attack where a teenage boy has been robbed.

"The victim has been left very upset and shaken and we want to find those responsible.

"We are particularly keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the robbery or knows those people involved.

"Any information reported will be treated in the strictest confidence."

If you can help police, please call 101 or contact Det Con Clancy on (01772) 209754 quoting log reference 1471 of May 18.
