A man who abducted a girl has been jailed.
Dean Hughes has been locked up for 11-and-a-half years for running off with the 13-year-old child in September last year.
It sparked a massive manhunt to find them and the 48-yer-old from Nelson was later arrested in Cumbria.
Dale Beresford from Nelson was also arrested at the scene as well.
The 23-year-old pleaded guilty to abducting a child and was sentenced to 12 months in jail, which has been suspended for two years.
Hughes pleaded not guilty to three counts of engaging in sexual activity with a child and two counts of child abductions.
But the jury later found him guilty after the trial.
Hughes was cleared of a single count of rape.
He's also been made subject to an indefinite sexual harm prevention order and been banned from driving for seven years and a half years.
