2BR's Sarah does us proud!
6:00am 20th March 2017
It was always going to be tough for our Sarah but this was something else!
2BR's News Editor was taking on a huge challenge of walking 100k in 24 hours for the Alzheimer's Society.
She's been raising money and awareness for the charity after her grandma was diagnosed with the disease.
When she set off on Saturday morning (18th March) things were looking good and confidence was high.
But the horrific weather we saw over the weekend changed that quickly.
Conditions just got worse and worse with marshy bogs sapping the energy out of tired legs and the heavy rain soaking everyone taking part.
But Sarah continued to battle on and refused to let it beat her.
Thankfully the organisers eventually decided enough was enough and safety had to come first.
Sarah had somehow managed to make it through 60k in the awful weather and she's been telling us about the ordeal:
Everyone at 2BR is amazed by what Sarah has achieved but she's not stopping here.
She is determined to finish off the last 40k of her walk as soon as she can.
There's no stopping her! So support her incredible efforts here
