A woman's been left really shaken up after being robbed in Blackburn.

Three men forced their way into the 68-year-old's house.

They got into the home on Bank Lane at about 7:30pm on Tuesday (17th January).

They went upstairs and covered her mouth, taking jewellery off fher and then stealing other items of jewellery from the house.

The men ran off down the ginnel next to the house.

The woman suffered a minor bump to her head during the incident.

The main offender is described as white, aged 20 to 22 years old, slim build with a thin face and trimmed beard.

He was wearing a dark coat and either had his hood up or was wearing a hat.

The other two offenders are described as white, aged between 27 to 31 years and were wearing dark clothing and hats.

They are thought to have been walking up and down Bank Lane before the robbery and detectives are appealing to anyone who may have seen them to come forward.

DS Mel Kelly of Blackburn CID said:

"This was a despicable incident where a woman has been targeted in her own home and robbed of her jewellery which is of great sentimental value. She has been left very shaken by what has happened to her and an investigation is underway to find the three intruders.

"We know that a member of the public was walking past the house at the time of the incident and may have witnessed what happened. If you are that man, we are very keen to hear from you and we would urge you to come forward as soon as possible.

"Similarly, we want to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and may have seen these three men in the area."

Anyone with information can contact police on 101 quoting log 1237 of 17th January.
