Walking against fracking

FRACK 4

9:40am 5th September 2016

From Lancashire to London to send a message about fracking.

Gayzer Frackman set off on his walk from Blackpool football club yesterday and this morning arrived in Burnley.

The anti-fracking campaigner is walking to London in the hope of sending a message to the government that Lancashire is not for shale. It comes after an announcement last month that residents and communities could be given compensation directly into their bank accounts if fracking takes place in their area something he claims is a bribe.

2BR went along to meet Gayzer this morning as he arrived in Burnley on day 2 of his journey, he said:

"I came from Blackpool football club because that's where we had the inquiry where the government is trying to overturn the democratic decision we had in Lancashire to overrule the Preston New Road and Roseacre sites to be fracked by Cuadrilla. It was a just decision, all the evidence was looked at so that's the reason I'm walking from Blackpool to London. I've also got a £10,000 cheque to hand into to Theresa May on the 19th September to bribe Theresa May not to frack us because the government have announced that they'll put £10,000 directly into people's accounts if they accept fracking in their area's and that's a bribe".

We're still awaiting the findings of the public inquiry that took place earlier this year. The inquiry looked into the decision by Lancashire County Council to reject Cuadrilla's plans to frack in the county. Gayzer says they've fought off fracking for 5 years and have no intention of giving up now:

"We have won at every single level from parish to borough to county. Anyone who heard what happened at Blackpool will know that we won hands down there as well. All the evidence is against fracking, we know it's going to poison communities. It's already affecting our communities, there are people living in fear and we don't want that for anyone else. We've successfully fought fracking on the Fylde in Lancashire for 5 years, we've taken on a multi-million pound company and they've not fracked in 5 years and that's simply on the evidence. We're never going to allow it in our communities and she needs to get that message".

"It's just to inspire people, I'm saying I'll do my bit to stop fracking and we need more people to join".

Here is a list of town's he'll stop off at on his way;

7th Barnlsley
8th Doncaster
11th Nottingham
12th Leicester?
13th Corby
14th Northampton
15th Lieghton Buzzard
16th St Albans
