Feeding the homeless

8:22am 18th December 2014

One act of kindness that inspired a Burnley man to help others.

Last night, Goodfilla's Cafe served all the trimmings to homeless people across the area.

Owner Anthony Jackson says he's been passionate about helping those less fortunate since an event 15 years ago he told 2BR all about it:

"I was with my mum and dad in MacDonalds, a gentleman came in and he was trying to copper up for a cup of coffee. He asked my parents how much a coffee was and they told and then put some money behind the counter for him. I suppose it was like a gift certificate and as soon as they gave it to him you could see the appreciation on his face and since then I've wanted to do something".

Anthony says he's got plans for the new year:

"Keep an eye out for future events and if you do see anybody or you think anybody needs help, they don't have to be homeless just down on their luck. Let them know about us, get in contact and see what events we have".
