Louise Sweet KC successfully appeals rape sentence

Louise Sweet KC appeared in the Court of Appeal representing a former soldier in his successful appeal against his sentence for rape. The Court reduced her client’s sentence by 2 years after Louise persuaded the Court that the trial judge had wrongly categorised the case as involving a breach of trust and therefore had placed the offence in too high a category in the Sexual Offences Sentence Guidelines.
