Lauren Bates-Brownsword, instructed by Elena Fernandes of Langfield Law, successfully represented a client facing an allegation of GBH at his trial at Southwark Crown Court.
The Crown alleged that Lauren’s client, together with a co-defendant who pleaded guilty on the morning of the trial, had joined in a group attack upon the complainant, which resulted in the complainant sustaining a broken back.
The prosecution relied upon CCTV footage after the incident together with the evidence of the complainant and his wife, both of whom were present during the incident and identified the defendant as one of the assailants.
The defence case was that the complainant and his wife were mistaken in their identification.
Following the trial the jury returned a unanimous verdict of not guilty.
