John Hurlock, instructed by Sunpritha Jutlla of Garrick Law, successfully represented X, a young man facing the loss of his job in the finance sector had he been convicted, after persuading the Court that the case should be stopped at half-time.
X was charged with obstructing/resisting a police constable, assault with intent to resist arrest, and assaulting an emergency worker. The Crown’s case was that following a complicated domestic matter the client had prevented the police from entering his relative’s property. Additionally, it was alleged that when placed under arrest the client headbutted a police officer.
After cross-examination of the police officers, John made a successful application of no case to answer at the close of the Crown’s case.
