Jim acted in the Court of Appeal in a successful appeal against sentence for a Manchester University student (having not appeared originally and after providing a second opinion on appeal) who’s sentence was reduced from 11 years and 2 months to 8 years for his part in a conspiracy to supply class A and B drugs through the “dark web” where payment was made through bitcoin. The case excited massive publicity at the time of the original sentences.
