Hugo Lodge, instructed by Pan Symeou of Faradays solicitors, represented a woman of good character, the mother of five children. Border Force stopped the Defendant and her four-year-old daughter at London Gatwick Airport in August 2024.
The Defendant was questioned in relation to five kilos of high-grade cocaine, with a street value in excess of £400,000, found in a bespoke concealed compartment in her suitcase. The 46-year-old Antiguan woman faced an indictment comprising one count of fraudulent evasion of a prohibition by bringing a controlled drug into the UK. She was unanimously acquitted by the jury at Croydon Crown Court.
