Huda Musa’s client acquitted after successful modern slavery defence in youth drugs trial

Huda Musa, instructed by Paul Cameron and Marcia Lawrence of Bark & Co, secured the acquittal of her client charged with two offences of Possession with Intent to Supply Class A drugs. Huda’s client was a youth at the time of the alleged offending and was found to be in possession of several knives, cash and approximately £13,000 worth of Class A drugs. The issues at trial involved section 45 modern day slavery and expert exploitation evidence. Proceedings in the Youth Court spanned some two years and 25 court listings before Huda’s client was acquitted of both charges.
