Jim Sturman KC, instructed by Angharad Reynolds of Clyde and Co, acted for a joint venture of 2 of the UK’s largest construction companies charged with breaches of the CDM regulations that were said to have caused the death of a construction worker engaged on a “smart motorway” project. After the first trial aborted through nobody’s fault, the prosecution offered no evidence after various legal arguments and representations were made that the case no longer satisfied the Public Interest Test.
