Fred Batstone, instructed by Ella Hughes of Rustem Guardian Solicitors, represented D, who was acquitted of assault by penetration.
The Prosecution case was that D had engaged in conversations of a sexual nature with a 14 year old at a party of their family and friends, before assaulting her by digitally penetrating her. D denied any contact of a sexual nature. Fred cross-examined the complainant, her 10-year old brother who was present at the time of the assault, and two of the complainant’s cousins who she had reported the allegation to shortly afterwards.
D was unanimously acquitted by a jury at Isleworth Crown Court following the five day trial.
