Emma Kutner, instructed by Tommy Polycarpou of Faradays Solicitors, represented a defendant who was accused of requiring two vulnerable people to perform forced or compulsory labour over a 7 month period. The Crown alleged that he had created fictitious debts, and using a combination of debt bondage, threats and violence, had forced them to undertake work for him for 14-16 hours a day. The defendant also faced charges of possession of offensive weapons. The jury unanimously acquitted the defendant of all charges he faced.
