Cathryn Sutcliffe, instructed by Rachael Gray of JSP solicitors, represented the Appellant in the Court of Appeal (Criminal Division) on an appeal against a 10-year extended determinate sentence imposed at Basildon Crown Court, following guilty pleas to a series of violent offences involving weapons.
It was successfully argued that the Sentencing Judge failed to give sufficient weight to the young age of the Appellant and the principle of totality.
The 10-year extended determinate sentence was reduced to a 9-year extended determinate sentence.
