Christopher Martin, instructed by Richard Atkinson of Tuckers Solicitors, successfully defended an Army Household Cavalry soldier at a recent Court Martial trial at the Court Martial Center sitting at Bulford. The defendant was charged with causing suffering to a Military Working Horse and it was alleged that he had violently struck the animal numerous times around the head with a broom handle. At the conclusion of the prosecution case, the Judge allowed a defence application that there was no case to answer by the defendant and a Not Guilty verdict was recorded. All legal aid contributions were returned to the defendant.
